Green Dale’s Prep School,
or intermediate school (Years 3 and 5) is an
integral part of the whole school. The
'Preppies' have their own space but take
part in all the main School events, for
example athletics sports, house music
competitions and assemblies.
There are three classes in the Prep School -
each class has a homeroom teacher and they
also meet with subject specialists from the
secondary school for art, science, food
technology, languages, PE, and performing
arts. To assure the continuity of education
at Green Dale’s the Prep School teachers
work closely with the senior Faculty Heads
to develop their curriculum. Emphasis is
placed on the core subjects: English,
Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
Homework is avoided since the school
emphasizes on class routines.
The classes have a maximum number of 30
students and are streamed to ensure that
individual needs are catered for. The small
size allows staff to get to know all the
students in the department, creating a
family atmosphere with a focus on being the
best that is possible. There is an emphasis
on providing quality programmers, by
catering for different learning styles and
needs. The Prep School has an open door
policy. |
